At Honest Tom’s Auto Care, a lot of thought went into choosing our name. Rather than naming the shop after the owners, Matt or Pat, we wanted a name that reflected our core ideals and ethics. We wanted something that communicated trust, honesty, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
So why "Honest Tom’s" instead of "Honest Bob" or another name? Simple—Tom sounds better! But there’s more to it than that. The name holds a deep personal significance for Matt, one of our owners. Matt’s late father, Tom, was affectionately known as "Honest Tom" among his friends and business associates, a nickname he earned for his straightforward nature and unwavering honesty. This legacy of forthrightness, tempered by Matt’s mother’s gentleness and balanced temperament, continues to influence the way we run our shop.
Naming the shop after his father wasn’t just a tribute—it was a commitment to carry on the values Tom embodied. A simple credo he lived by, “What’s right is what is right, and just do the next right thing,” serves as our guiding principle in the auto repair industry.
